Wishes Granted and Asked

New books! From the second-hand bookshop in Central, Coffee Books. Reachable by Bus 103, 23, and 13 (this one from City Hall).

I’ve been wanting four of them for a really long time: House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski (which I never thought I would ever find other than through Amazon; it’s rather obscure. If a page from a book looked like THIS, of course it would be obscure), How to Be Alone by Jonathan Franzen, Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, and Angel Carter’s The Bloody Chamber (which always seems out of print). Awesome to have found all of them in a second-hand bookshop. Reading Malcolm Bradbury’s The History Man at the moment.

Some friends planning to come over for a visit!

1. Joy, early December, on the way to Taiwan

2. Karen and Steph, just before Christmas holidays

3. Joanna, for our annual one-day-in-HK get-together when her family comes over for New Year

4. Ivy, hopefully end of February, on the way back to Shenzhen

Please please please make all of it work out.
